CWA are delighted to be appointed to develop proposals for the renewal of a bungalow in Kinsale.Proposals include the re-organisation of the ground floor to create a series of large open-plan living spaces and the construction of a new lightweight first floor. The design is based around a folded wrap which is folded around the existing house to both enclose a new first floor and increase the thermal performance of the retained sections of the existing house. The wrap is clad in slate and echoes the vernacular vertical slate clad architecture of Kinsale. Judicious positioned openings are cut in the folded slate wrap to capture views over Kinsale and down towards the sea.
